NASHUA, NH – velocityHUB, a leading provider of business consulting and professional training services, is excited to begin a partnership with Siena College next month, via velocityHUB’s collegiate leadership program, the Victory Academy. Over the course of the 2017-2018 academic year, the Victory team will work closely with coaches, the Saints Leadership Academy, Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) leaders, Student Athlete Mentors (SAM) team captains and select groups of sophomores, juniors and seniors. The student-athlete participants will represent all of the 18 division I sports.
Siena is proud of its athletic success. The Saints have won 41 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships since joining the MAAC in 1989. One of the Saints Athletic Department values is Student Centered. They are focused on assisting their student athletes in reaching their full academic, athletic and social potential. Student athletes are given opportunities to develop skills such as leadership, teamwork, decision-making and organization.
By partnering with the Victory Academy, Siena Athletics is showing its commitment to supporting the personal development of their student athletes. The programs will provide their student athletes with tools and education to help them develop as leaders athletically, academically, and in their futures.
Participants will gather for six unique leadership workshops across the course of the upcoming academic year. The academy will cover a range of impactful individual and team leadership topics. Specific areas of focus will include leadership styles, leadership actions, goal setting, communication, teamwork, mental toughness, social media excellence, brand management, common team leader hurdles, and many others. They will be given tools and strategies to develop personal leadership profiles and learn ways to leverage their athletic experience, to become confident leaders on and off the field. The Academy will also incorporate specific training from the velocityHUB offering built for executives, professionals and emerging leaders in companies large and small, from Fortune 100 to Inc. 500 businesses.
Lori Anctil, Associate Athletic Director, is eager to kick-off the partnership. “At Siena, we strive for both academic and athletic excellence. We aim to prepare our student-athletes for success during their time as a Saint and also life beyond college. We look forward to partnering with the Victory Academy to help provide our student-athletes with the tools, strategies and education they need to be strong team and individual leaders.”
Kristen Kjellman Marshall, a Partner at velocityHUB and Executive Director of the Victory Academy, is excited for the upcoming academy to begin. “Our team is thrilled about the opportunity to work with Siena College coaches and student athletes. We’re honored to work with several different groups within Athletics and help make a unique impact on every participant. Our goal is to support Siena’s values and mission by preparing their student athletes to be strong, confident leaders in the classroom, on the field and in the community.”
